Gibson TB-1 #EA-5016

This TB-1 was shipped from the Gibson factory on April 26, 1939 to Lyon and Healy of Chicago; #EA-5016 (see Gibson banjo serial numbers vs. factory order numbers) is a catalog-standard late 1930s style 1 banjo with dot fingerboard inlays in place of the earlier fleur-de-lis pattern as seen on TB-1 #157-38. The tuners are the Grover “tin can” type which would soon be replaced, in most cases, by Kluson tuners with Catalin buttons.

#EA-5016 has been converted with a five-string neck by Frank Neat and a Sullivan flathead tone ring.
